“I am not here for politics…I am here to do what is right.” -Theodore Roosevelt
Conservative Viewpoints seeks, most of all, a voice to share a perspective on what is right and true.
While truth can be an elusive creature, what is right under the democracy formed by those brave men named Washington, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe is grounded in that tattered rag called the United States Constitution and its first ten accompanying amendments known as the Bill of Rights.
Democrats, once the conservative party bound by our guiding documents, abandoned sound principles for big government. The Republican party has been taken hostage by the Neo-Con movement that once surrounded and supported Presidents like Wilson, FDR, and Truman. They continued to influence the administration of President George W. Bush. Under his watchful eye government grew at an unprecedented rate and has never been as large or as intrusive.
Conservative Viewpoints seeks the wisdom of leaders who faught for limited governmental intrusion and sensible policies. Thomas Jefferson lifted words into actions stating that:
“a wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities.”
From Jefferson’s First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801
Conservative Viewpoints is determined to return to the principles of Ronald Reagan and integrity of T.R. while supporting the ideals of limited government advocated by Thomas Jefferson. A party is not what we strive to define. We believe that the fate of our country, its youth, and its future as the most powerful, influential, and prosperous nation in the world hangs in the balance.
