John F. Harris, Jonathan Martin: POLITICO
RICHMOND, Va. — Eager to drain the 2009 elections of drama and import, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs claimed Tuesday night that President Barack Obama was “not watching returns.”
You can be sure that he is studying them closely now:
The off-year elections were, in two big races, an unmistakable rebuke of Democrats, reshuffling Obama’s political circumstances in ways likely to have severe near-term consequences for his policy agenda and larger governing strategy.

Today America ushers in the 44th President of the United States. With that, a promise of a better America for all
Americans will be put to the test, not in the first 100 days, but in the first 100 hours.

At best Barack Obama is a Socialist that has been predisposed to waging class warfare his entire life.
On the one hand, Obama espouses his desire to play Robin Hood by taking money from those HE decides don’t deserve it and GIVING it to those HE believes need more money than they earn. On the other hand, his people have the audacity to suggest that his own comments calling for a redistribution of wealth have nothing to do with Obama’s economic plan….

Former United States Attorney John Brownlee, a conservative Republican and former Army Ranger, announced his candidacy for Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
“I am running for Attorney General because every Virginian deserves to live in a safe, secure and prosperous community,” said John Brownlee. “As Attorney General, I will work hard to ensure that all Virginians live in neighborhoods that are free from violent crime, drug dealers, child predators, criminal illegal aliens, and those who prey on our most vulnerable citizens”

While Conservative Viewpoints resides in Virginia traveling is a love of mine. Seeing new places or, as is the case for this trip, visiting family is always a welcomed event.
Easter is the most significant holiday for Christians. The importance of the weekend only adds to the time spent with my father in the great state of Tennessee.
I hope each of you finds the time to celebrate God’s faith in you shown through the sacrifice of his only son for the forgiveness of our sins. It is the one time to truly consider the resurrection of Jesus Christ, what it means to you, and perhaps what purpose surrounds your existence.

Writers into the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been attacking anyone and everyone that has claimed that Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick is a felon that should pay a legal price for his acts. Those that feel that Vick should face legal repercussions are apparently terrible people that, and this is the real kicker, are racist.

While CV heads to the beach for the holiday weekend, we wish everyone a sense of peace and happiness.
Please take time this long weekend to think about our troops currently in harm’s way and the millions of military men and women who have placed their lives on the line to allow us to enjoy freedoms that no other country in the world enjoys.

Lorie Smith is right when she states that the issue of the Wayne Theater has been run through the mud. Frank Lucente is correct when he stated that this issue is tearing at the fabric of the city.
Unfortunately, it is because you Mrs. Smith, Ms Dowdy and Mr. Reynolds keep bringing the issue before us, then taking it away, and then bringing it back. For three years you have been plotting ways to take tax payer dollars to fund this endeavor, and along the way you have misled the public.

On this day the world has stopped. War means little. Gas prices don’t matter, and life’s rough spots seem petty. Today 32 innocent people have been taken from us. Future engineers, leaders, mothers, and fathers lost at the hands of an insane gunman.
There will never be an explanation that satisfies the families and loved ones associated with this tragedy. There will never be an answer to the question of, why? Not really. Law enforcement officials will try to fill in the holes and provide explanations, but they will do little to take away the pain that will endure a lifetime for those left to pick up the pieces.
Prayers don’t seem like enough, and yet they are the best we have to offer. Faith will carry the day for many that witnessed this horror. Faith will prevail in the midst of despair.
